I’m Valerie, your death guide…your death doula…your death positive pal. As a death doula, I provide non-medical physical, emotional, and spiritual support to the dying and their loved ones.

Why Death Care?

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I found myself reflecting on meaningful ways to spend a life and eventually found my way to the death care space. I found overlaps between the death care space and my career as a user experience (UX) designer where I designed digital experiences within the financial industry. It felt like a natural fit.

In early 2021, I began my end of life doula training through International Doula Life Movement (IDLM), International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA), and Going With Grace. I regularly spend time furthering my education in death care with supplemental courses, research, and am hopeful to learn with you. While there are no formal certifications required, I believe in learning all I can. I am proud to have earned my National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA) Proficiency Badge in June 2022.
